75% of the matter being resolved means… Foreign Minister Jaishankar spoke clearly on the China dispute

New Delhi : External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar explained the meaning of 75 percent resolution of border dispute with China. In New York, the Foreign Minister clarified that when I said that 75 percent progress has been made in the India-China border dispute talks, it was only on the withdrawal of troops in eastern Ladakh. Jaishankar said that India has had a ‘difficult history’ with China. Beijing deployed many troops on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in 2020, despite having ‘clear agreements’ with India.

There is no talk yet on the issue of patrolling

The Foreign Minister was speaking at the Asia Society Policy Institute in New York. he/she said, when I said that 75 percent of it (border dispute) has been resolved, it is only a matter of withdrawal, then this is a part of the problem. So we have been able to resolve most of the cases of withdrawal in the confrontational points. But some issues of patrolling need to be resolved. he/she said that the next step would be to reduce tension. Jaishankar’s remarks on the withdrawal of troops come after his/her statement earlier this month in which he/she said that India has made progress in border talks with China and about 75 percent of the problems of withdrawal have been resolved.

Reasons for deteriorating relations with China

Speaking at the Asia Society Policy Institute in New York, he/she said that our history with China has been full of difficulties. Despite our clear agreements with China, we saw in the midst of the Corona epidemic that China violated these agreements and sent a large number of its troops to the LAC. It was likely that there would be an accident and it did happen. Therefore, there was a clash and many soldiers were killed on both sides. In a way it affected the relationship.

The effect will be seen on the whole world

At the event, Jaishankar stressed that the relationship between India and China is the key to the future of Asia and the world becoming multipolar. he/she said, I think India-China relations are the key to Asia’s future. If the world has to become multipolar, then Asia will also have to become multipolar. Therefore, India’s relationship with China will not only affect the future of Asia, but in this way perhaps the future of the world as well.

There was an encounter with Chinese soldiers in Galwan

Relations between India and China are at an all-time low after a bloody standoff between the armies of the two countries in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley in May 2020. The process of withdrawal of troops began in February 2021 and talks have been going on since then to resolve the border dispute.
