7 wickets had fallen for 105 runs… then Shreyas Iyer played a brilliant innings.

New Delhi. Indian team’s middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer is playing one excellent inning after another in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Right-handed batsman Shreyas played a match-winning innings in the second match of Vijay Hazare Trophy against Hyderabad. he/she came in at number nine and brought the team out of trouble and gave it its first win in this tournament. Shreyas, who scored a century in the first match against Karnataka, led the team to victory by scoring unbeaten 44 runs in 20 balls in the match against Hyderabad. Shreyas has been away from Team India for some time. he/she is trying to make a comeback in the national team. Shreyas’ return to form before the upcoming Champions Trophy is good news for the Indian team. Vijay Hazare Trophy is also being played in ODI format while Champions Trophy matches will also be played in 50 over format.

Hyderabad had set a target of 170 runs for Mumbai to win. While chasing the target, Mumbai lost 7 wickets at the score of 1055. After this, captain Shreyas Iyer came to bat at number nine. The team was in trouble and now the responsibility of ensuring victory was on the shoulders of the captain. Shreyas along with Tanush Kotian took the responsibility of taking the innings forward and led the team to victory. Shreyas scored unbeaten 44 runs with the help of four fours and 3 sixes in 20 balls while Tanush returned unbeaten after scoring 39 runs. Powerful batsman Suryakumar Yadav returned to the pavilion after scoring 18 runs on 23 balls. Shreyas Iyer scored unbeaten 114 runs while batting first in the first match against Karnataka, while he/she played an explosive innings while chasing against Hyderabad.

For Mumbai, opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi played an inning of 19 runs while Ayush Mhatre scored 28 runs in 16 balls. Hardik Tamor and Shardul Thakur could not even play the account while Suryansh Shedge contributed 6 runs. Mumbai scored 175 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 25.2 overs. For Hyderabad, Saranu Nishant took maximum 3 wickets while Mohammad Muddasair took 2 wickets.

Tanmay and Avinash scored half-centuries for Hyderabad
Earlier, batting first, Hyderabad scored 169 runs with the help of opener Tanmay Agarwal’s 64 runs and Araveli Avinash’s 52 runs. The entire Hyderabad team collapsed in 38.1 overs. Apart from Tanmay, only Abhirath Reddy and Avinash could touch the double figures. For Mumbai, Atharva Ankolekar took maximum 4 wickets while Ayush took 3 wickets.
