The administration has taken a major action before Navratri and Diwali in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The Food Department has raided a private firm and seized more than 5,500 kg of fake ghee. It is being told that fake ghee was made by mixing synthetic essence of ghee with palm oil, soybean oil and other edible oils.

Low quality ghee was being sold under different local brand names. The firm has been sealed and samples of fake ghee have been sent for testing. According to a PTI news, a few days ago in a raid in Indore city, more than a thousand fake ghee was seized, which was being sold in the name of Sanchi brand.

As soon as the festive season starts, the trend of fake and adulterated food items has started in the market. Let us tell you that by consuming fake ghee, you may be at risk of heart diseases, obesity, diabetes, digestive problems and some types of cancer.
