A 6.5 kilometer long tunnel has been completed in Sonamarg, which is one of the beautiful tourist places of these beautiful valleys. After the construction of this tunnel named Z-Morh, along with Sonamarg, the journey to Leh-Ladakh will also become easier. At the same time, like all other beautiful tourist places of Kashmir, Sonamarg will also be open throughout the year. Apart from this, due to the ease of Kargil and Ladakh, the army will also get a lot of benefit from this tunnel.

Somarg will be open for tourists throughout the year

The Z-Morh Tunnel is built in Sonamarg, Kashmir between the high hills and it goes from Gagangir to Sonamarg. The construction of this tunnel is almost complete and after its completion Sonamarg will also be open for tourists round the year like Pahalgam and Gulmarg. Let us tell you that Sonamarg receives the maximum snowfall in the winter season and the temperature here goes down to -20 degrees. During the winters, it used to be cut off from other states of the country for about 4 months, but after the construction of the tunnel, now traffic will be possible throughout the year.

The Z-Morh Tunnel has 2 lanes including an emergency or escape tunnel. This tunnel is now 98 percent ready. There are many facilities like CCTV cameras, Wi-Fi connectivity and cross galleries in this tunnel. After the construction of Z-Morh tunnel, there will be no danger of avalanche. The army will also benefit a lot from this tunnel and it will be very easy to reach the border with ration and weapons. Talking to India TV, NHIDCL GM Vijay Kumar Pandey said that 98 per cent civil work of this tunnel has been completed.

Tunnel can be completed by December 2023
GM Pandey of NHIDCL expressed hope that by December 2023 the tunnel can be opened for general public. GM said that this is a very important tunnel and due to this the connectivity between Srinagar and Leh which used to be broken will not be the same and also the journey to Ladakh will be easier. Common people are eagerly waiting for the opening of this tunnel. People here say that tourism will increase after the tunnel is open for 12 months and people will also get employment.
