5000 year old Burja Devi Temple below Burj Khalifa! The post going viral on social media is fake

New Delhi: A debate has erupted across the country over the claim of building Jama Masjid on a demolished 16th century temple in Sambhal district of UP. The court had ordered a survey in this case, after which violence broke out in Sambhal. Meanwhile, some wrong and misleading news are also spreading rapidly on social media. In one such post on social media, with the logo of a news channel, it is being claimed that Hindu organizations have filed a petition regarding the 5000 year old ‘Burja Devi’ temple under Burj Khalifa in Dubai. This is related to Burj Khalifa. The post is becoming increasingly viral on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Threads. However, when the team of presswire18 Times Online investigated this claim, it turned out to be a completely fake post. Neither any Hindu organization has made any claim in this regard nor has any such petition been filed in any court.

What is the claim in the viral post?

First of all, let us tell you what is written in this post viral on social media. The handle named ‘Voice of Humans’ on Twitter shared a graphic on November 30. It has the logo of a Hindi news channel and it is written on the graphic – ‘Claim of 5000 year old Burja Devi temple under Burj Khalifa, Hindu organizations filed petition!’ The caption of the post reads, ‘Come Sanatani brothers and sisters, let’s dig Burj Khalifa.’

The same graphic has also been shared by a user named Tushar Sharma. This user has written in the caption of the post, ‘Who is Burja Devi?’ Apart from these, the handle named ‘Life Changer Lines’ has also shared the same graphic on threads. While sharing this graphic on Facebook, a user named Raj Sheikh has written in the caption, ‘India Court ordered survey within an hour.’ See the screenshots of all these posts below.

What is the truth of this claim?

To investigate this viral claim on social media, first of all we found out the truth of this picture through Google reverse image search. On searching through reverse image, a total of 11 sources of this picture were found, among which some parody social media pages are also found. Most of them have reposted the post of ‘Voice of Humans’ only.

When we investigated these accounts, we found many such posts on their pages, which have nothing to do with reality. After this we checked the X handle and website of the channel with whose logo this post is being shared. There too, no link or post of any such news was found, as is being claimed in this post.

For the third investigation, we went to Dubai’s leading news website Khaleej Times and searched there by writing Burj Khalifa. On searching, many news related to Burj Khalifa were found, but no such news was found as is being claimed in this post. There is no news related to this claim being made on social media neither in Hindi media nor in English media.
