New Delhi. The Indian team for T20 World Cup 2024 has been announced. The senior selection committee of BCCI announced the 15-member Team India a day before the deadline. The command of the Indian team in the World Cup will be in the hands of Rohit Sharma, while the responsibility of vice-captaincy will be on the shoulders of Hardik Pandya. Before the announcement of the team, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah held a meeting with the selection committee at Hotel ITC Narmada in Ahmedabad. BCCI announced the team for the World Cup through social media. The Indian Board did not hold any press conference for this. Many players who were eligible to play the World Cup have not got a place in this team. The selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar ignored these players.

Rinku Singh, who has earned the tag of ‘finisher’ in a very short time in international cricket, has not got a place in the main team selected for the T20 World Cup. He has been kept among the reserve players. Rinku Singh, playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, also plays the role of finisher in IPL. He is being described as the future star of Team India. Rinku’s performance in the current IPL has not been anything special. However, he has not got many opportunities in this season of IPL. Rinku has scored 356 runs in 15 T20 International matches which includes 2 half-centuries. During this period his strike rate has been 176.23.

Shumbhaman Gill will be the backup opener
Young opener Shubman Gill has not been included in the 15-man main team selected for the T20 World Cup to be played in West Indies and America. He will travel with the team as a reserve player. Gill scored a total of 890 runs in IPL 2023 with the help of 3 centuries and 4 half-centuries. After this he was made the captain of Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024. However, this season he has not been successful in repeating his previous performance in IPL. This season of IPL, Gill has scored 320 runs in 10 matches. He is included in the team as a backup opener.

Pant and Samson heavy on KL Rahul
Experienced wicketkeeper KL Rahul was with Team India in the T20 World Cup last year. Rahul has scored well in the last few matches of the current IPL.
