New Delhi. The ICC has announced the Player of the Month of February 2025. India’s star batsman Shubman Gill has won this award. Prior to the IPL, the ICC has also considered Gill’s iron. During this time, Gill has left behind Australian veteran Steve Smith and New Zealand’s Glen Philips who were giving them a tough competition. Gill, who performed a memorable performance in a limited overs domestic series matches against the ICC Champions Trophy and England, won the award on Wednesday, beating Australia’s Steve Smith and New Zealand’s Glen Philips.
Shubman Gill scored 406 runs in five ODIs in February at an average of 101.50 and a strike rate of 94.19. he/she played an important role in winning India 3–0 by scoring two half-centuries and a century in the three-match ODI series against England. he/she scored 87 runs in the first ODI played in Nagpur, 60 in the second ODI played in Cuttack and then 112 runs in the third ODI played in Ahmedabad. In Ahmedabad, he/she managed to win the award for the best player of the series with a player of the match by hitting 14 fours and three sixes in a 102 -ball innings.
he/she also continued this magnificent rhythm in the Champions Trophy. he/she scored 46 against Pakistan after playing 101 runs against Bangladesh in India’s first match in Dubai. India managed to win both these matches easily. This is the honor of the best player of the third ICC month for Gill. he/she had earlier won it twice in 2023 (January and September).
Shubman Gill will play for Gujarat Titans in the upcoming season of IPL. he/she has been retained by Gujarat for ₹ 16.50 crore in IPL 2025 auction. he/she will captain this team. The right -handed batsman Gill has been made his/her captain by Gujarat Titans after Hardik Pandya’s departure. he/she has played 103 IPL matches.
