5 innings 646 runs, average of 161, film maker’s son is beating the door of Team India


New Delhi. While on one hand the great batsmen of India are struggling for runs, on the other hand, the young batsman is scoring runs. Agni Chopra, son of film director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, playing for Mizoram in Ranji Trophy, has done wonders by scoring a double century in the second consecutive match. 25 year old Agni is knocking at the doors of Team India by playing big innings one after the other in the current season. This season, Agni Chopra has scored two double centuries and one century along with one half century. Left hand batsman Agni Chopra made his/her debut in first class cricket this year.

Agni Chopra scored 218 runs in the Ranji Trophy Plate Group match being played between Mizoram and Manipur. During this period, he/she hit 29 fours and one six in 269 balls. Agni is representing Mizoram team in Ranji Trophy 2024-25. In the current Ranji season, Agni has scored 646 runs in 5 innings at an average of 161.50. he/she is on top among the batsmen who have scored the most runs. Agni has overtaken the great Don Bradman in terms of average.

Agni’s best score is 238 runs
Earlier, Agni Chopra had also shown a strong performance in the match played against Arunachal Pradesh. Agni Chopra had scored 110 runs in the first innings of that match. After this, he/she remained unbeaten after scoring 238 runs in the second innings. Apart from this, he/she scored a half-century in the opening match of Ranji Trophy 2024-25. That means Agni Chopra has played big innings in every match this time and he/she is leading in the list of batsmen who have scored the most runs. Bradman scored runs at an average of 99.94 in his/her entire Test career, while his/her batting average in first class was 95.14. At present, Agni’s average in Ranji Trophy is much higher than Bradman.

Agni scored a century and double century in the same match against Arunachal Pradesh.
Before this match, Agni Chopra had also played a brilliant innings in the match against Arunachal Pradesh. he/she scored 110 runs in the first innings against Arunachal while he/she played an unbeaten inning of 238 runs in the second innings. Also, before this he/she had started this season with a half-century. In the first innings against Arunachal Pradesh, Agni scored 110 runs in 138 balls with the help of 19 fours. When he/she came to the crease in the second innings, Mizoram’s score was one wicket for 2 runs. After this he/she scored 238 runs in 209 balls with the help of 33 fours and 5 sixes. This was his/her first double century in first class cricket.

Agni Chopra made his/her debut in first class cricket in January this year in a match against Sikkim. he/she has scored 1367 runs in 16 innings of 8 first class matches. This does not include the innings of 218 runs played against Manipur. In Ranji, Agni is scoring runs at a batting average of 91.13. During this period his/her strike rate is 98.55. he/she has scored 7 centuries and 4 half-centuries.
