490 runs in 10 innings, out of Team India for 7 years, still not getting a chance

New Delhi. Karun Nair, who has scored a triple century in Test cricket, is hoping to make a comeback in Team India. For this, he/she is playing domestic cricket as well as county cricket. Karun says that he/she wants to give a new direction to his/her career. he/she says that he/she is not thinking too far ahead. Because he/she believes that this can get him/her stuck in a situation. It has been 7 years since Karun played a match for India. But he/she has shown some of his/her old flair in the last one year. During this time, this batsman played some useful innings for Vidarbha and Northamptonshire in English county cricket.

Karun Nair told PTI, ‘You always have to be ready to work hard. Everything is related to the next match and I am not thinking too far ahead. Because sometimes you get stuck thinking about what is going to happen next. I have scored a lot of runs in all formats in the last one year. I am trying to do the same thing on every occasion that I have been doing for the last one year. I am looking at every opportunity as a new opportunity.’

Scored 487 runs in county this season
The first sign of positive change in Karun’s career came when he/she got a chance to play for Northamptonshire in early 2023. he/she then scored 249 runs in three matches at an average of 83, including a century against champions Surrey. This year he/she scored 487 runs in seven matches in county cricket at an average of 49, including a century. According to Karun Nair, ‘Everyone knows that it is not easy for Indian batsmen to score runs in England. So I have learned a lot about understanding myself as a batsman, finding ways to score runs and believing in myself. There are many things that I have learned in England.’
