What is the job of a branch postmaster?

Handling the day to day postal operations of the branch post office. Handling the postal operations of India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) as and when required by the department. Marketing and promotion of products and services as per the requirement of the department. In single handed branch offices, it is the responsibility of the Branch Postmaster (BPM) to ensure that all the work is completed on time. At other branches, there are ABPMs to assist the BPM. Postal servants are posted in sub post offices, head post offices and Railway Mail Service (RMS) post offices, etc. Their work includes selling stamps, stationery, looking after the transportation and delivery of mail, IPPB deposit accounts and doing the work given by the postmaster or sub-postmaster. Postal servants posted in post offices also have to handle the receipt and dispatch of incoming or outgoing mail. They also have to help the post master or sub-post master in handling the work of the department.
