4,2,1… Know how many seats the opposition party got in the Lok Sabha.

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party (SP) is going to get two front seats in the Lok Sabha, which will give place to one more member apart from party president Akhilesh Yadav. In the 18th Lok Sabha, Congress will get four seats and DMK will get one seat. This arrangement is being made afresh after the 2024 parliamentary elections, where the opposition alliance ‘India’ has made a comeback with a total of 240 MPs. On the SP bench, all eyes will be on who will get the key position along with Akhilesh. will get. During the two short sessions held after the elections, when members were not yet given permanent seats, the SP chief had Faizabad MP Awadhesh Prasad sitting next to him/her. This victory of SP was considered very important and it is still discussed. Ayodhya is also in Faizabad parliamentary constituency where SP had given a big shock by defeating BJP.

This becomes all the more important because Prasad is a Dalit face who was fielded from a general seat and defeated a well-known local BJP face. The SP wants to strengthen its hold among Dalit voters in UP, and Prasad is being seen as a magnet to woo this population.

During the Parliament session, Samajwadi Party and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha repeatedly took the name of Awadhesh Prasad to corner the BJP. A section of the opposition is also pushing him/her for the post of Deputy Speaker. The front row for the Congress will be opposition leader Rahul Gandhi along with deputy leader Gaurav Gogoi, senior-most member Kodikunnil Suresh and Rahul’s confidant KC Venugopal.

The Speaker’s Office has sought names of MPs to finalize their seating arrangements in all the rows. Sources say that the seating arrangement is still under discussion. Trinamool Congress is also expected to get front row seats in addition to the seven seats allotted to Congress, SP and DMK.
