37 sixes… 349 runs scored in 120 balls, world record made in T20

New Delhi. Records are made to be broken. Every day many records are broken in cricket and many new ones are made. Something happened in T20 cricket on Thursday which had never happened before. Baroda team, playing without Hardik Pandya, made a new world record against Sikkim. Baroda scored 349 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs in the match against Sikkim in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Which is the biggest score in T20 cricket. Earlier, the world record of T20 was in the name of Zimbabwe which had scored 344 runs for 4 wickets against Gambia in October this year. Now Baroda holds the world record for scoring the highest total of runs in T20.

Baroda team came against Sikkim (Baroda vs Sikkim) without Hardik Pandya and his/her elder brother Krunal Pandya. The team decided to bat first. Bhanu Pania scored the most runs for Baroda. Bhanu scored unbeaten 134 runs on 51 balls which included 15 sixes and 5 fours. During this period his/her strike rate was 262.75. Four batsmen scored 50 or more runs. Shivalik Sharma was out after scoring 55 runs while Abhimanyu Singh contributed 53 runs. Wicketkeeper Vishnu Solanki returned to the pavilion after scoring 50 runs.

Baroda hit 37 sixes
Baroda team hit a world record total of 37 sixes against Sikkim. Sikkim bowlers looked helpless in front of Baroda batsmen. Earlier, 27 sixes were hit in the match between Zimbabwe and Gambia. Compared to that match, Baroda’s batsmen hit 10 more sixes. Five batsmen of Baroda scored runs at a strike rate of more than 200. For the first time in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, a team has touched the 300 mark.

Baroda team won by 263 runs
Baroda defeated Sikkim by 263 runs in this match. Chasing the target of 350 runs, Sikkim team could score only 86 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. For Sikkim, Robin Limbu scored the highest score of 20 runs while Ankur played an unbeaten inning of 18 runs. Only three batsmen from Sikkim could touch double figures. Mahesh and NA Rathva took two wickets each for Baroda.
