3 things related to passport, can become a hindrance in traveling abroad, can send you to jail

airport: If you want to go abroad for any reason, then it is very important for you to know five things related to passport. It may happen that your careless attitude towards these 3 things not only becomes a hindrance in your journey, but you also have to go to jail. Let us tell you that due to this careless attitude in the past, dozens of passengers have gone behind the bars.

According to a senior officer associated with the security of IGI Airport, any kind of tampering in the passport can not only become a hindrance in your foreign travel, but can also send you to jail under Section 12 of the Passport Act. Actually, this strictness on the part of the Immigration Bureau has been done in view of many attempts to go abroad illegally in the last decades.

Now let us tell you those three things, which can become the reason for you going to jail…

  1. Sewing of passport:
According to the senior official, it is not possible that the stitching of the passport will open on its own. But, if due to some reason the stitching of the passport gets opened then instead of stitching the passport yourself, you should contact the regional passport office. If you stitched the passport yourself, action may be taken against you and you may even have to go to jail.

Reason for action: Many times such passengers have been caught at the airport, who were trying to go abroad by changing the biodata page of the passport. Investigation found that the travel agent of the passenger had changed the biodata page of the passport to the biodata page of a passport which had a visa of the said country. After changing the biodata page, the passport was stitched again.

  1. 36 pages of passport
Indian passport is divided into two categories in terms of number of pages. The first category has 36 page passports, while the second category has 60 page passports. During the Immigration Bureau check, all 36 or 60 pages of your passport must be available. If there is even one page missing from your passport, not only will your trip abroad be hampered, but you may also have to go to jail.

Reason for action: In the investigation of Immigration Bureau, many such cases have been seen in which some pages were found missing from the passport. Investigation revealed that after going abroad, fake stamps were put on those pages and during return, they tore those pages to avoid any action. In view of these possibilities of fraud, availability of all pages of the passport is mandatory.

  1. arrival departure stamp
According to a senior official, any kind of tampering with the departure and arrival immigration stamp on the passport can prove costly for you. Therefore, do not try to tamper with any stamp or visa sticker on your passport. If you do this, action can be taken against you under Section 12 of the Passport Act.

Reason for action: These days, many such cases are being seen that due to not getting work visa for Malaysia, many people are first going to Bangkok on tourist visa and then entering Malaysia by getting fake stamps put on their passports. During return, these fake immigration stamps are becoming the reason for their arrest.
