3 Indians scored centuries in Chennai, how was the Player of the Match decided


New Delhi. The Indian cricket team started with a win in the Test series being played against Bangladesh under the ICC Test Championship. Team India finished the first match played in Chennai in four days. India scored 376 runs in the first innings and then bowled out Bangladesh for 149 runs. In the second innings, India declared the innings at 287 for 4 and set a target of 515 runs for Bangladesh. On the fourth day, India bowled out the visiting team for 234 runs and won by a huge margin of 280 runs. Three Indians scored centuries in this match but the Player of the Match award went to R Ashwin who showed an all-round performance.

India’s claim to a place in the ICC Test Championship final for the third consecutive time has become even stronger. Team India, which is already at the top, has strengthened its position by defeating Bangladesh in the first match. In the Chennai Test, India showed a strong game and bounced back after facing difficulties and won the match. In this match, India scored one century in the first innings and two centuries in the second innings.

R Ashwin, Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill scored centuries for the Indian team against Bangladesh. The innings of these three were important in the team’s victory but R Ashwin was praised the most. India had lost 6 wickets for 144 runs in the first innings, after which he/she scored a century and took the team to a big score. Thanks to the centuries of Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill in the second innings, India was able to set a huge target of 515 runs against Bangladesh. All three centuries were important for Team India but the decision of the Player of the Match was made easy by R Ashwin’s 6 wickets in the second innings.
