3 Indian veterans will retire after the Champions Trophy.
New Delhi. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, the three legends of Indian cricket, are close to their international retirement. This trio had said goodbye to his/her T20 I career after India’s victory in the T20 World Cup last year. Now the question is whether they will retire after the Champions Trophy or not. Former Indian opener Akash Chopra said in a video on his/her YouTube channel that he/she feels that the upcoming Champions Trophy may be the last ICC event for Rohit, Kohli and Jadeja.
Chopra said. “Right now there is the Champions Trophy, then we have the next ICC event WTC (World Test Championship) final, where we have not reached, then Kohli, Rohit or Jadeja have no chance to play. Then the next ICC event is next year which is the T20 World Cup. All three have already retired from T20I. “
Akash further said, “Then there is a ODI World Cup in 2027 which is far away. The world will look quite different. I think players also feel that this can be our last tournament and hence it is very important. Although we always say that we should never say. Maybe something else can be. It may be that Rohit, Virat, Jadeja play in the next World Cup as well. ”
Chopra further said that there is no question that Kohli, Jadeja are two most fit Indian cricketers. he/she can play a few more years. The question should be whether India needs these players or there are better options at that time. If the answer is yes, then move in that direction. Therefore, I think it can be the last ICC event for Rohit, Jadeja and Kohli. “
