New Delhi: The month of January of 1948 gave a big wound to the country by going. In fact, on the evening of January 30, 1948, Nathuram Godse killed Mahatma Gandhi, which included this day in the saddest days in history. Ironically, by making non -violence their biggest weapon, Mahatma Gandhi, who showed the way out of the country to the British, himself became a victim of violence. he/she was going for evening prayer as usual on that day too. At the same time, Godse shot him/her very closely and the saint of Sabarmati left the world by saying ‘Hey Ram’.

3 bullets that Mahatma Gandhi hit

On 30 January 1948, Nathuram Godse shot Mahatma Gandhi very closely. The incident took place during the evening prayer meeting at Birla House in Delhi. Godse fired three bullets on Mahatma Gandhi. One bullet hit the chest, the second and the third in the stomach. Mahatma Gandhi fell to the ground and said ‘Hey Ram’. his/her niece Manu saw his/her watch, in which it was 5:17 in the evening.

Mahatma Gandhi had realized his/her death

However, Mahatma Gandhi was already aware of the attack on him/her. The first attack on him/her took place on 20 January 1948, but he/she survived. In ten days the following days, he/she had said that his/her death was formed several times. he/she mentioned this at least 14 times in newspapers, public meetings and prayer meetings.

On January 21, Gandhiji had said that if someone shoots me very closely and I face those bullets while taking the name Ram in my heart, then I deserve congratulations. This statement gives a clear indication of the prediction of his/her death. On January 29, a day before the death of Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Krishna (sister of Jawaharlal Nehru), Nayantara Pandit, Rajiv Gandhi and Padmaja Naidu went to Birla House to meet him/her.

Know the story related to Rajiv Gandhi

Catherine Frank, who has written the biography of Indira Gandhi, describes that evening in her book. The four -year -old Rajiv Gandhi was running after the butterflies. Then he/she came and sat near Gandhiji’s feet and started planting jasmine flowers in his/her feet. Gandhiji laughed and pulled Rajiv’s ears and said do not do this. Flowers are implicated only in the feet of the dead person. This sentence also indicates the prediction of his/her death.

Mahatma Gandhi was busy with his/her routine on 30 January

The day of 30 January 1948 has come when Mahatma Gandhi was busy with his/her routine. They woke up at 3:30 in the morning, prayed, drank honey-lemon water, then slept. After getting up, he/she got a massage, read the newspaper and had breakfast. his/her breakfast included boiled vegetables, goat milk and juice. Meanwhile, a conspiracy to assassinate Gandhiji was being hatched in the waiting room number 6 of Old Delhi railway station. Nathuram Godse, Narayan Apte and Vishnu Karkare were present there.

How did Godse plan to kill

According to the book ‘Freedom at Midnight’, Godse was suggested to go to a prayer meeting wearing a burqa. But Godse said, ‘By wearing this, I will not be able to remove my pistol and be caught in women’s dress. I will be infamous when caught. ‘ Then Apte said, ‘The simple way is the best.’ Godse then wore a gray colored suit. he/she fired seven bullets in his/her Beretta pistol.

Mahatma Gandhi was busy meeting those who come and visit continuously

Later in the afternoon, many people came to meet Mahatma Gandhi, including refugees, Congress leaders and a Sri Lankan diplomat along with their daughter. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel also came to meet him/her at 4:30 pm. During this time, Godse and his/her companions moved to the waiting room to spend time. Godse had a desire to eat peanuts. ‘Freedom at Midnight’ mentions this incident. Apte went to get peanuts, but could not find anywhere. he/she told Godse, ‘Tell me if the work goes on in cashew-almond.’ Godse said, ‘I only have to eat peanuts.’ Ultimately, Apte got peanuts and Godse ate it.

Nathuram Godse, Narayan Apte and Vishnu Karkare decided that they would go to Birla House to kill Mahatma Gandhi after going to Birla temple. Godse arrived first, then Apte and Karkare also reached there from Tanga. Apte later said, ‘We did not face any kind of problem in going inside Birla House. We breathed a relief. The people present there were not searching for anyone. he/she further said, ‘Godse had already mixed with people. Neither we saw him/her nor he/she saw us. ‘

Bullets shot while going towards prayer site

Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel were talking to Nehru on increasing differences. Due to this discussion, Gandhiji left late for the prayer meeting. After 5 pm, when they were going towards the prayer site, Godse wearing khaki clothes came to him/her. It seemed as if he/she wanted to touch his/her feet. Gandhiji’s niece Abha tried to stop him/her, but Godse pushed him/her. Gandhiji’s notebook, spit and Tasbih fell to the ground. Godse took out the pistol and fired three bullets. One bullet hit the chest, the second and the third in the stomach. Gandhiji fell to the ground and said “Hey Ram”. his/her niece Manu saw his/her watch, in which it was 5:17 in the evening.

The public gathered to give a final farewell to ‘Bapu’

The news of Mahatma Gandhi’s death spread like fire. Maulana Azad and Devdas Gandhi first reached there. Then Nehru, Patel, Mountbatten and other leaders also came. Gandhiji’s body was brought to Birla House. Then millions of people attended his/her last visit. About 1.5 million people came to give him/her a final farewell. Such a large crowd had never been seen before. The Air Force, Army and Navy personnel pulled their body from ropes to the pyre. When the pyre was set on fire, people said together, ‘Mahatma Gandhi should be immortal.’
