25% increase in education allowance of children of government employees, who will get how much money for studies now?

Government employees in Haryana will now get 25 percent more child education allowance. 2812.5 rupees will be given every month in child education allowance and Rs 8437.5 for hostel. Similarly, education allowance of Rs 5625 every month and Rs 3750 will be available for children’s employees to take care of children. The benefit of increased child education allowance will be available from January 1, 2024. The Haryana State Personnel Department has issued a notification on Tuesday regarding the increased child education allowance.

Why increased education allowance?

According to the rules issued by the Central Government, the limit of child education allowance and hostel subsidy increases by 25 percent after the increase in dearness allowance on the revised salary structure by 50 percent. The dearness allowance of employees taking the benefit of the Seventh Pay Commission has crossed 50 percent from January 1, 2024. Since then, guidance was being sought from the Personnel Department on behalf of various departments to increase the child education allowance.

It has been clarified in the orders that the amount of reimbursement of education allowance of children will be Rs 2812.5 per month. While the hostel ie hostel subsidy will be given Rs 8437.5 every month. Even if the actual expenditure has been made by the government employee.

Similarly, without paying attention to the actual expenditure incurred by the government employee, the reimbursement of child education allowance for disabled children will be payable at double the rate from normal rates.
