24 people died in Gujarat’s Rajkot fire, PM Modi expressed grief by tweeting

New Delhi: A massive fire has occurred in Rajkot, Gujarat. A massive fire broke out in the gaming zone of TRP Mall behind Sayaji Hotel in Kalavad of Rajkot district on Saturday evening. So far 24 people have died tragically in this accident. Many people are suspected to be trapped. A large number of people were present in the gaming zone when this incident occurred. Over the weekend, many families had reached the game zone of the mall with their children. After receiving the information, the fire brigade and police teams reached the spot and started the rescue. Meanwhile, the police has arrested the owner of the gaming zone. PM Modi has expressed grief over the Rajkot fire incident.

My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. Pray for the injured. The local administration is working to provide all possible assistance to the affected people.

In another tweet, the PM said, ‘We are all saddened by the fire incident in Rajkot. A little while ago I spoke on phone with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. he/she informed me about the ongoing efforts to provide all possible assistance to the affected people.

President Draupadi Murmu also expressed grief over the Rajkot accident. he/she said, ‘I am deeply saddened to learn about the loss of lives in a fire incident at a gaming zone in Rajkot, Gujarat. My condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones, including small children. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured.

A plume of smoke was visible up to 5 kilometers away
Let us tell you that suddenly a fire broke out in the gaming zone and then there was chaos. The plume of smoke can be seen up to a distance of five kilometres. According to the information, many people are feared to be trapped amidst the fire and smoke. Many fire brigade vehicles are present on the spot to control the fire. According to the administration, the death toll in this accident may increase further. The bodies of the deceased are badly burnt, it is becoming difficult to identify the bodies. At present, no information has been given by the administration as to how many people were present in the gaming zone at the time when this accident occurred.

The temporary structure that was in the TRP gaming zone here collapsed. The fire was brought under control 2 hours ago. The debris has been recovered. Relief and rescue operations are underway. Orders have been given to close all gaming zones of Rajkot with immediate effect.
