New Delhi. The Indian cricket team will play its last league match of the T20 World Cup 2024 against Canada on Saturday (June 15). This match will be played in Lauderhill, Florida. After this match, Shubman Gill and fast bowler Avesh Khan will return home. Both the players are traveling with the team as reserve players. India had announced a 15-member team for the T20 World Cup. For this, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, Khalil Ahmed and Shubman Gill were selected as reserve players. These players have not got a chance to play in any match in the T20 World Cup being played in America. Team India has already cut the ticket for Super 8.

According to Cricbuzz’s report, both the players were in Florida till Thursday. On Wednesday, they reached Fort Lauderdale from New York with the team by chartered plane. It has been learned that both Shubman Gill and Avesh Khan were to stay with the team only on the US tour. Unless any player got injured. They went with the team as a reserve, because in case of a sudden injury to any player, it was not possible for the BCCI to immediately send any additional player from India to America or the Caribbean country.

T20 WC 2024, Florida weather update: Will 3 matches be cancelled, bad news for PAK, one match of India may also be affected

T20 cricket is a ‘cat and mouse game’… a strange statement by a desperate captain, the team is on the verge of being eliminated from Super 8

These can also be stopped if a player is injured
If a regular player gets injured during the scheduled practice on June 14 or during the game the next day, both the players may be asked to stay there. But this is very unlikely, because the World Cup schedule may be disrupted due to bad weather in Florida. The team also has a third opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. There will be no need for an additional fast bowler, as the team is expected to rely more on spinners during the Caribbean tour.

Rinku Singh and Khalil will remain with the team
For now, Rinku Singh and Khalil Ahmed can remain with the team. Both can go to Bridgetown, Barbados. Where the Indian team will play its first match of Super 8 on June 20. The other two Super 8 matches will be played in Antigua on June 22 and in St. Lucia on June 24.
