2 heroes of Brisbane’s victory, one waiting to return, the other on TV… and India struggling to save defeat

New Delhi. When the Indian cricket team reached Brisbane last week, it took a complete tour of the Gabba Stadium because it had a historic victory in mind. Team India had broken the pride of Kangaroos here three years ago. The manner in which Team India chased the target of 328 runs under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane and won the match, had devastated Australia’s stronghold. On the contrary, the team under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma is struggling to avoid defeat. The situation is such that if any Indian batsman does not score a century or Lord Indra is not kind, then the team would hardly be able to escape defeat.

In the third Test being played from December 14, the Indian team has lost 4 wickets for 51 runs in reply to Australia’s 445 runs. At the end of the game on the third day, captain Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were at the crease. The hopes of the Indian team and fans are now pinned on these two batsmen. This could prove to be the decisive match of the series as both the teams are currently tied at 1-1 in the series.

IND vs AUS: Players are not happy in the dressing room! Veterans are angry in the commentary box, what is going on in Team India?

Danger of defeat looms over India, Rohit-Rahul will have to do the work done 20 years ago, then Laxman-Ganguly had shown strength.

The Indian cricket team often watches a video or movie of an old match before a big event. In such a situation, it may help him/her if he/she watches the video of the 2021 Brisbane Test match. In that match, Australia scored 369 runs in the first innings and 294 runs in the second innings. In response to this, the Indian team, which had scored 336 runs in the first innings, won the match by scoring 329 runs for 7 wickets in the second innings.

There were many heroes of that historic victory of India, among which Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill are also included in the current team. But the then captain Ajinkya Rahane is now out of the team. However, he/she is in excellent form and was the leading run-scorer in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy that ended a day ago. In the 2021 match, he/she scored 37 runs in 93 balls in the first innings and 24 runs in 22 balls in the second innings. And who can forget Cheteshwar Pujara’s 211-ball innings. Pujara had scored 56 runs in that innings. In fact, in the same innings, Shubhman Gill (91) and Rishabh Pant (89) had scored more runs than Pujara. But those who have seen that match know that it was Pujara who broke all the Kangaroos’ morale by failing all their attacks. Incidentally, Pujara is still in Brisbane, but not as a cricketer. he/she is commentating the match for Star Sports.
