New Delhi. Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana thrashed the South African bowlers. Harmanpreet and Smriti scored brilliant centuries in the second ODI of the series. Both of them made a partnership of 171 runs for the third wicket and took India’s score beyond 300. Harmanpreet Kaur’s score was 88 runs in 49.2 overs. After this, she completed her century in a bang by hitting two fours and a six. On the basis of Harman and Mandhana’s century innings, India scored 325 runs for 3 wickets.

In the second ODI being played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Harmanpreet Kaur scored a century in 87 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur returned unbeaten after scoring 103 runs in 88 balls. During this, she hit 9 fours and 3 sixes. Richa Ghosh returned unbeaten after scoring 25 runs in 13 balls. She scored runs at a strike rate of 192. Earlier, Smriti Mandhana completed her eighth ODI century of her career in 103 balls. Mandhana equaled Mithali Raj’s record during this period. Mithali had the record of most centuries in ODIs from India, which is now jointly held by Smriti Mandhana and Mithali. For the South African team, Nonkululeko Mlaba took 2 wickets for 51 runs.

Mandhana scored a century in the second consecutive ODI
Smriti Mandhana scored her second consecutive century in this series. She scored 117 runs in the first ODI. India won the first ODI by 143 runs. Team India can win the series by winning the second ODI. A single Test match will also be played between the two teams after the ODI series. After the Test match, both the teams will clash in a 3-match T20 series which is very important in view of the upcoming T20 World Cup.
