1971 war veteran Wing Commander Devendra Jeet Singh Kler

Speaking about the situation in Bangladesh, 1971 war veteran Wing Commander Devendra Jit Singh Kler said the current situation in the country was heart-wrenching and student protests could not continue in this form.

he/she further said that currently in Bangladesh the mob has taken control of everything and it is difficult to understand who is supporting them.

he/she told ANI, “The current situation in Bangladesh is heartbreaking. There is no control over anything. There are arson and riots. The mob is controlling everything. It is difficult to understand whose support these people have. A student protest cannot take such a form.”

he/she said that it seems that there is a conspiracy behind this (the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh).

he/she said, “There is a conspiracy behind this… Hindus are facing a lot of atrocities. Students cannot do all this. The demands of the students were legitimate and they have been met. Until this anarchy ends, how will an interim government be formed? Only the army can end this… The army should impose curfew…”

The political situation in Bangladesh remains unstable after the resignation of Sheikh Hasina and protests are increasing. These protests, which were started by students demanding the abolition of the quota system in government jobs, have now turned into widespread anti-government protests.

After her resignation, Sheikh Hasina reached India on Monday evening.

In view of the crisis, a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security was held on Monday at the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting was attended by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The situation in Bangladesh was discussed in the meeting. Senior officials were also present in the meeting.
