New Delhi, Royal Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik has reportedly retired from IPL. After the IPL Eliminator match played against Rajasthan Royals, Karthik was given a guard of honor by his/her RCB teammates. Virat Kohli hugged Karthik and sent him/her off the ground with tearful eyes. Karthik scored 11 runs in 13 balls in his/her last innings at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB is out of IPL after the defeat against Rajasthan Royals. Karthik had said before the start of the season that this IPL is going to be the last season of his/her career.

After losing the match against Rajasthan, Dinesh Karthik accepted the greetings of the audience by raising both the gloves in his/her hands. Kohli hugged Karthik. Karthik also left the field emotionally. 38-year-old Dinesh Karthik scored 326 runs in 15 matches in IPL 2024. During this period, he/she scored runs at a strike rate of 187.36. RCB had given him/her the role of the team’s finisher but this season Karthik could not play his/her role properly. he/she scored 2 half centuries this season. Karthik hit 27 fours and 22 sixes. he/she took 4 catches and made one stumping.
