New Delhi.South Africa defeated champion England to register their second consecutive win in the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8. With this win, Aiden Markram and company have come closer to entering the semi-finals. England needed 14 runs to win in the last over. But in the last over, fast bowler Enrique Norkia turned the tables. he/she took 1 wicket for 6 runs in this over. On the basis of Norkia’s brilliant bowling, South Africa defeated England by 7 wickets. With this win, South Africa has got 4 points in 2 matches and has reached the first position in the points table of its group of Super 8.

England (ENG vs SA), which came out to chase the target, could score 156 runs for 6 wickets. It had a bad start. Phil Salt, who was in excellent form, returned to the pavilion after scoring 11 runs. he/she was dismissed by Rabada. Jonny Bairstow’s wicket fell at a score of 43. Bairstow was caught by Keshav Maharaj at the hands of Norkia. Bairstow was dismissed after scoring 16 runs. Captain Jos Buttler also returned to the pavilion cheaply. De Kock scored his/her second consecutive half century
Earlier, Quinton de Kock (65) gave a quick start but England restricted South Africa to 163 runs for 6 wickets. De Kock hit four fours and as many sixes in his/her 65-ball innings. After hitting a four and a six against Moeen in the second over, De Kock opened his/her account by hitting two sixes and a four on consecutive balls of Archer. In this fourth over of the innings, Reeza Hendricks also hit a four, due to which South Africa scored 21 runs.

De Kock got a lifeline on 58
De Kock hit the fourth six of his/her innings against Curran in the sixth over, which helped South Africa score 63 runs without any loss in the powerplay. he/she completed his/her half-century in 22 balls by stealing a run in the next over. Rashid and Moeen’s spin bowling from both ends curbed South Africa’s run rate. Meanwhile, De Kock also got a lifeline on Rashid’s ball when Mark Wood put the ball close to the ground while catching it.

De Kock and Hendricks added 86 for the first wicket
De Kock hit a four in the next over against Moeen but the bowler dismissed Hendricks to break the 86-run partnership for the first wicket. Hendricks could score only 19 runs in 25 balls. To increase the run rate again, South Africa sent Heinrich Klaasen to bat at number three but Butler ran him/her out with a direct throw from behind the wicket to the bowling end wicket. Butler then handed the ball to Archer and this fast bowler proved his/her decision right by dismissing De Kock. Butler ended his/her innings by taking a brilliant catch.

Archer took 2 wickets in a row in the last over
Rashid then dismissed South Africa captain Aiden Markram (1), taking the team’s score from 86 for no loss to 115 for four in the 15th over. Amidst the fall of wickets, Miller held one end and continued to play big shots. Archer took the wickets of Miller and Marco Jansen (0) on consecutive balls in the last over to restrict South Africa to 163 runs.
