13 PLA planes entered Taiwan’s border

Taiwan’s Defense Ministry said that in another maneuver over Taiwanese territory, 20 Chinese aircraft were detected around the area of the self-ruled island.

The ministry shared more details in a post on social media platform X.

It said the PLA aircraft were of different types such as J-11 and Y-8. Of the 20, 13 crossed the center line of the Taiwan Strait and entered the northern, central, and southwestern ADIZ.

The ministry responded by saying it has monitored the situation and responded accordingly.

In another post on Twitter, the Defense Ministry announced that its Air Force on Sunday conducted the annual air combat strategy assessment, Exercise Sky Dragon.

The exercise evaluated air-to-air and air-to-ground combat skills and tactics across all fighter wings to enhance their ability to defend their airspace.

China has increased its military activities by deploying aircraft and naval ships around Taiwan since September 2020. It is using gray zone tactics to achieve its security objective.

Earlier, Taiwanese President Lai Ching-tey called a high-level national security conference in which he/she urged the government to neutralize any threat to Taiwan’s democracy and security after China conducted large-scale military exercises around the island. Assured the public about the commitment of

he/she made his/her comments in response to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) announcing military exercises dubbed “Joint Sword-2024B” in the Taiwan Strait and surrounding areas, which he/she described as a “stern warning” to supporters of Taiwan independence. Was done. , according to the Taipei Times.

In an effort to modernize Taiwan, on November 4, Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te laid the keel at the Kaohsiung Shipyard for a new light frigate prototype for the Taiwanese Navy, also known as the Republic of China Navy (ROCN). -Participated in the laying ceremony. It is a major milestone in Taiwan’s self-defense efforts and defense industry development.

The incident follows a recent pattern of increased maneuvers by the PLA around Taiwan, raising concerns over regional stability as Beijing continues to assert its claims to the island.

In recent weeks, Taiwan has seen an increase in such military operations, including several incidents of Chinese aircraft crossing into Taiwan’s ADIZ. Taiwan’s defense forces have responded by closely monitoring these activities and increasing airspace security.

The increase in activity is being seen as a show of force by Beijing aimed at intimidating Taiwan amid ongoing diplomatic support from the United States and other international allies.

The Taiwan Strait remains a focal point of heightened tensions, with Taiwanese officials repeatedly condemning the increase in Chinese military operations in and around the area, calling it a direct threat to the island’s sovereignty and regional peace.

Taiwan has been independently governed since 1949. However, China considers Taiwan part of its territory and insists on eventual reunification, by force if necessary.
