1 over, 3 balls, 2 wickets, record made, Jadeja’s magic worked

New DelhiThere is no limit to Ravindra Jadeja in getting the ball to turn fast by spinning and pitching in the air. The Wankhede pitch was turning from the first session of the day, then what happened was Ravindra Jadeja, who was out of form, got his/her wish. After the failure in Pune, there were many questions regarding Jadeja’s bowling, which Jadeja himself answered.

Jadeja bowled out Glenn Phillips in the Test match against New Zealand at the Wankhede ground and took the record of being the fifth Indian bowler to take the most wickets in Test cricket for Team India. Earlier in this match, Jadeja had broken the fifty partnership by dismissing Will Young of New Zealand.

Jadeja passed, created history

By taking two wickets in one over, Jadeja left two Indian bowlers behind. With taking 312 wickets, Jadeja left behind Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan who took 311 wickets. However, the title of being the most successful Indian bowler in Test cricket is with Anil Kumble, who took a total of 619 wickets in his/her illustrious career and he/she remains the only Indian bowler to take 600 or more Test wickets. After him/her, Ravichandran Ashwin is in second place, who has taken 533 wickets in Test matches so far. If Ashwin plays cricket for 2-3 more years, he/she can definitely break Kumble’s record. At third place is Kapil Dev, who had taken 434 Test wickets in his/her career. Kapil Dev is still the Indian fast bowler taking the most wickets in Test history. After him/her comes Harbhajan Singh, who has 417 wickets in his/her name. Now the fifth place has gone to Ravindra Jadeja. Jasprit Bumrah is also one of the top bowlers of this generation, who has taken 173 wickets in 40 test matches so far.

Jadeja’s counter action

It is always said that the right place to answer someone in sports is the field and Ravindra Jadeja understands this better. There was a lot of pressure on Jadeja at Wankhede ground. After returning to the team, Sundar was continuously succeeding but Jadeja was failing on the spin friendly pitch. Everything changed on the first day of Mumbai Test, Jadeja again became a hero. Along with making the record, Jadeja also broke the back of Kiwi batting by taking 5 wickets in the first innings. Jadeja achieved the distinction of taking 5 wickets in the innings for the 14th time.
